Kate leads design at Purple Donut Studios, focusing on websites, brand visuals, and design work that helps businesses communicate clearly and connect with the right people.

At Purple Donut Studios, Kate is the person making sure the design holds everything together. She leads website and design projects from early planning through launch, paying close attention to structure, messaging, and how all the pieces work as a whole. Her role sits close to both strategy and execution, which allows her to keep projects focused while still leaving room for thoughtful creative decisions.

Her work is grounded in structure, clarity, and intent. She considers how people interact with each design, what they’re trying to understand, and how the work can support that without getting in the way. Kate is comfortable getting nerdy about web design, UX, and content structure, but keeps conversations clear and practical. She regularly uses AI as part of her process to help draft and refine content, especially when SEO matters, while keeping the final result human and easy to read.

Originally with a public relations background, Kate found her true calling in graphic design and later in web design, strategy, and builds. She was first drawn to design through classic title credits, which shaped how she thinks about visual storytelling and restraint. She has been working in design for over 15 years and building websites since before mobile friendly layouts were standard.
