Barry leads lighting at Purple Donut Studios, shaping how each project looks on camera and helping translate a client’s vision into something cinematic and achievable.

Barry approaches every project as a visual challenge. He assesses what the client needs. Then, he works out how to bring it to life in a way that feels elevated while staying grounded in budget and scope. His focus is on logistics and feasibility, making strong creative ideas workable, finding the right balance between ambition and practicality .

Most of his work centers on lighting and shoot preparation. He scouts locations, studies the space and develops a plan, so the team walks in ready. On set, he brings decades of experience and a deep appreciation for the tools of the craft. Tools such as our: lens choices, dollies, tracks and jib arms. to create depth and visual impact in the frame.

Barry begins with the end in mind, visualizing the final frame and working backward to make it happen.
