A trip built to celebrate — and a deadline built in from day one
The Club organized a multi-day trip to D.C. for young people from clubs across the country, with visits to major stops including Boeing headquarters. The closing event was designed as a celebration, and the organizers wanted to show everyone in that room, including attendees, sponsors, and donors, a finished video that captured what the experience had actually felt like. The catch: it needed to be done before the party started, which meant shooting across multiple locations over two days and locking a finished edit within roughly 24 hours of wrap.
From the field to the editing suite
Purple Donut Studios came in as the production partner on the ground, working through Biggs Creative, who developed the overall strategy for the project. The job was to cover every day of the trip across all the major stops without getting in the way of the experience itself.
We set up field interviews at locations along the route, covered the wrap-up party at the end of the second day, and also captured interviews with sponsors and event organizers. When cameras wrapped, the edit started immediately. Purple Donut worked through the night and delivered the highlight video to the client with time to spare before it played at the closing event.
After the deadline pressure lifted, we delivered additional cuts for donor appreciation and promotional use heading into the following year's event.
A library ready before the next conversation started
Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington and Biggs Creative walked away with the highlight video they needed on the night they needed it, and a full library of material to draw from for outreach and next-year promotion.
